The School uses The International Dance Teachers Association and The Royal Academy of Dancing syllabi’s in order to train pupils for exams. The first level of exams can be taken from 5 years and we use the rosette awards system to develop their confidence and get the pupils accustomed to en exam procedure, whilst promoting their enjoyment of dance. All pupils receive a bannerette, certificate and a different coloured rosette for each exam.
After pupils have progressed through the rosette awards, they study grades from preparatory to grade 5/6 and are graded from Pass to Honours. Pupils can also take medal tests- bronze to gold bar tests and also higher grade exams up to advanced level.
The exam system is not compulsory, although most pupils do take exams, and the results can be seen in their confidence, dance skills, sense of achievement and enjoyment of dance.
The School consistently achieves high results in exams. Please see Latest News for results of the latest exams.
